WHAT IS A SWIMMING POOL CONTROLLER

The simplest Swimming Pool Controllers are units designed to manage the addition of chemicals to a pool. Most, but not all, of the controllers use a probe or probes to detect the pH and the chlorine levels in a swimming pool as the water passes through the controller past the probes. The device’s software will turn chemical pumps and saltwater chlorinators on and off according to the trigger levels set by the operator.

Having a controller does not absolve you from,

  • testing your pool water. Controllers need to be checked and maintained. Using a controller is far preferable to having chemicals being added willy nilly to a pool.
  • understanding swimming pool chemistry. You need to understand what you are instructing your chemical controller to do and why. You are still the brains of the pool.

Like anything the quality of controllers varies from manufacturer to manufacturer. They all perform well when you first get them and then one day you find yourself reading an operating manual written by a Martian.  Once you have waded through that, you can generally master the unit. As time goes on you discover the efficiencies and deficiencies of the different makes of controller or just the one you are dealing with.

Aquarius Technologies Ultima Chemical Controllers cover a full range of swimming pool sanitation needs. Their range of controllers can go beyond just adding chemicals to a pool. They give you the ability to manage a pool.

Before choosing a swimming pool controller,

  • consider its proposed purpose. Is it
    • for your pool

    • a commercial pool
    • a pool which is attended to
      • fully
      • once a
        • day
        • week
        • month
  • decide on what you want it to do,
    • just add chlorine and acid
    • alert you to when there is a problem
    • give you a report or reports
    • keep a history
    • be able to check things remotely
    • keep an independent eye on a pool.
  • will you be able to operate it or will you need support
  • do your research
    • check with operators
    • repairers
    • different outlets.
  • can you be sure that the service and maintenance procedures will be followed
  • will the operator be able to understand how your proposed unit works?

You need to be certain that your investment will get the results that you want.
